"body": "Ranchi: Student leader Devendra Nath Mahto, who completed 15 days of hunger strike of alleged irregularities in the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC), on Sunday called for permanent reforms in the education system to ensure that future generations do not face similar hardships.\n\nIn a post on X, Mahto said the government had called for talks on Monday and expressed hope that the dialogue would lead to a positive outcome.\n\n\"On the 15th day of the hunger strike, the situation is extremely critical and in its final phase. Yesterday, the government called for talks. We hope that this dialogue will yield a positive outcome and bring about such reforms in the education system that the coming generations will not have to endure the pain, struggle, and hardship that many young people are facing today\", he said on X.\n\nHe further added, \"We want education to be such that no student has to struggle so much for their rights. There should be a permanent reform in the education system, the benefits of which will be passed down from generation to generation\".\n\nEarlier, on Sunday, the protest by Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) aspirants entered its 23rd day, with student leaders announcing a gherao of Chief Minister Hemant Soren's residence on August 20 over alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations, while the state government invited them for talks.\n\nThe students said they have agreed to attend a meeting with a government delegation at the State Guest House in Ranchi at 2 pm on Monday.\n\nAfter meeting the protesting students, Additional District Magistrate (ADM) (Law and Order) Dhananjay Kumar said the administration had invited a delegation of students and their legal adviser for discussions with the government.\n\n\"We came here to meet the students and see if they are doing fine. We come here every day,\" Kumar told reporters.\n\n\"A delegation of students, accompanied by their legal advisor, has been invited for a meeting tomorrow at 2:00 PM. We have come to request the students to attend this meeting. The discussion will take place at the State Guest House at 2:00 PM. On behalf of the government, the same group of ministers will be present. The discussion tomorrow at the State Guest House will be with the ministers. We have come to extend this invitation,\" he added.\n\nWhile speaking to reporters, student leader Ravindra Paswan said the students would attend the talks but questioned whether the government was serious about addressing their demands.\n\n\"The SDO visited us recently. We have received an offer for talks, and we will be holding discussions with the government delegation tomorrow... The government has indeed offered talks, and we will attend them, but I fail to understand whether the government is genuinely serious about our demands. Is their intent truly clear? I feel it is not, though perhaps they will clarify it tomorrow,\" Paswan said.",

COMEX silver was at $65.845 an ounce, up $0.737, or 1.13%, from its previous close of $65.060 an ounce. It moved between $64.850 and $66.395 an ounce during the session.\n\nWhy are gold prices moving?\n\nGold has found support from softer US economic data and lower bond yields in recent weeks. Markets are also watching expectations around US monetary policy, movements in the dollar and geopolitical developments.\n\nUncertainty around the Iran conflict and disruptions to oil flows through the Strait of Hormuz have kept inflation risks in focus. Higher oil prices can complicate the outlook for central banks by adding to inflation pressures.\n\nGold had also gained 0.8% last week, according to the market update.\n\nTata Mutual Fund, in its August 2026 House View on Gold, said near-term price movements could remain volatile as investors assess interest rates, the dollar and bond yields. It retained a constructive medium- to long-term view on gold, citing central-bank buying, investment demand and portfolio diversification as structural supports.\n\nWhat is driving silver?\n\nSilver has benefited from the broader rally in precious metals but has a different demand profile from gold because of its industrial use.\n\nTata Mutual Fund said the near-term outlook for silver would depend on global economic conditions and industrial demand. It noted that moderation in solar installations and easing supply tightness could lead to periods of consolidation and higher volatility.\n\nAt the same time, the fund house expects longer-term demand to benefit from applications in electronics, AI-related hardware, renewable-energy infrastructure and solar power.\n\nWhat should investors watch?\n\nFor gold, the key factors remain US interest-rate expectations, bond yields, the dollar and geopolitical risks. A weaker dollar and lower yields can generally support gold because the metal becomes relatively more attractive to investors.\n\nSilver could see larger price swings because industrial demand plays a bigger role in its price.\n\nTata Mutual Fund has suggested a staggered investment approach for investors with a medium- to long-term horizon.
